Our Story

CurlHood, founded by Reema Bakri; started as a community for those who needed that little ‘pick me up’ when it came to tackling their curly hair. However, due to its growing success, it has now a community of appreciation of oneself. From curly hair tips to body positivity and merch that increases your confidence – CurlHood has it ALL.

The name CurlHood was established to bring a community of curly haired individuals together. The Hood’ are the members of this community that resemble the tight knitted neighbourhood that is evident in middle eastern culture. As past of this community, you will go through experiences together and combine forces to help combat beauty stereotypes.

Curls support Curls was a slogan that came around in the early years of CurlHood and has stuck around ‘till present day. It is important for CurlHood to remain this safe space for everyone and not just for those with curly hair. The support needs to be within the Hood consistently for everyone!

CurlHood now aims to reach a wider audience whilst continuing to spread awareness about body positivity, curly hair and all other hair types and confidence!
